    • Meditation and different outcomes

Does anyone find that some meditation sessions are extremely fulfilling, peaceful and satisfying and then other meditations leave me wanting more time to meditate, as I don't feel as if I've reached anything, even though it may have been an hour or more of meditation/attempting to meditate?

If so, what do you make of it?  In case nobody has "guessed", I am perplexed by this as this is what I am experiencing.  I am a bit perplexed by it.

      Hi!

Yes, yes i've exactly the same experiences. In fact, it seems to me that of late, I have been experiencing much lesser degrees of fulfillment and peace as compared to when I've just started.

It led me to conclude that it may largely be due to the fact that instead of surrendering myself completely to the experience of the moment, I have in fact, cooked up certain forms of expectations (expectations of peace and satisfaction based on prior experiences). And so, I consciously remind myself to rid any expectations of outcome, and focus fully on the experience, the moment itself.

For meditation is not a path towards your goal, but it is an end in itself. Wink
