We are going to revamp the recent activity stream to make it easier and smother to navigate. We have already, added your photo to the activity stream and we have combined the “new friend activity” show only the 4 most current friends on one line rather than separate entry for each friend.

We need you to put your thinking caps on and tell us how we can make the activity wall better.

Here are our thoughts:

We want to add the ability to add a photo, video or a link to your status… much like you can do on Facebook. What other things would you like to add to your status?

We want to stream line the activity feed so things are easier to navigate. We were thinking we would consolidate posts so each activity would only show one post with a link to more posts of similar nature.

For example, if you post 10 blogs in 2 days the activity stream would only show the most recent blog with a link that said, 9 more similar activities which you could click on to expand the list to show the other 9. But the activity stream would never show more than one post for a certain activity. All similar activities would be folded unless expanded.

Example two: You update your status. The activity stream would show your most recent status update and then fold and contain a “view more link to expand and show the rest of your recent status updates.

This would apply to almost any activity… including pictures, events, forum posts, groups etc…

We are looking for your ideas on how we can make the activity stream more enjoyable and user friendly. If there is something else you would like to share, something you like or don’t link please let us know that as well.

I think the ideas you have already sound good to me. This would help save space on the activity stream as well. Maybe it would be a good idea to section them up as well instead of all together. I was trying to think of a way you could divide them up because there are so many things to do on here. Maybe you could have like an individual section for exmaple to have all personal updates like any changes to profile (uploading pictures, blogs, music uploads, apps.) or comments on other profiles, this person is now friends with this person, etc. and a group section to include group activities such as forum posts, classified posts, advertising and new groups created/joined/comments. Just a though, would be interested to see what others think about it.

Yes.. that is exactly what I was trying to say... but you said it much better. Thank you. . We will group similar activities together so forum post are grouped and status updates are grouped and pictures are grouped etc.. and it will make it easier to find something someone posted an you might have missed because you will be able to expand each group to show older items that may have otherwise gotten lost in the activity stream.

wow look how old this discussion is. :( Well I'll add my 2 cents anyway. The more featrures that get added, the slower the page gets. I'm having an awful time with this. Also, those strips keep popping up while I'm reading and usually I can't make them go away unless I reload the page. Can't find the page to report bugs, when I click the link that occasionally is posted, my broswer says I'm not logged in. That's happened with other links, too, so I tried finding what I need without clicking links. I've been here almost a month and really enjoy it. :)
