I didn't imply force - hence my mentioning not doing things for others in a haughty way and not expecting anything in return from doing.
Not sure what "merely acting" is. We're all here. We might as well do something useful with ourselves.

It was never suggested that you did imply it, Gwen. The whole subject was brought up as a contrast to what you had written, which was agreed with.
The context given "merely acting" amply provides its intended meaning. If this is not understood, then the rest of what has been written is less clearly understood, as well.
And, what constitutes "useful" opens up a whole 'nother can of worms, though is entirely relevant. :o)

Okay, gotcha. See what you're saying now.
Aptly bookmarked this from the Law of One by Ra material: "A strong desire to be of service is not enough when it is uninformed by wisdom." So I suppose if something is done uninformed by wisdom how would one know if it was useful or not. Correct?
And wisdom - - - opens up yet another can of worms. We're all just drowning in a big old slimey worm pile aren't we? LOL

:o)
Yes, that is saying the same thing but another way. :o)
Yes, it's easy to wallow about in the worm pile. :o) Even when directed by Wisdom/Higher Self, it sometimes is that it appears to be folly, while at other times it is folly, yet appears oh-so serious. The "trick" is to trust enough to do it, regardless. Once having embarked on that path, there are no other palatable options. The ego does not like this, but eventually even it realizes that there is no thing to return to. In time, ego tantrums come less often, and become less traumatic. :o)
(You may well know these things, Gwen, but they are written for others, who may be struggling with them.)

Greetings dear family,
As I was reading today’s posts several thoughts came to my mind:
When the first posts arrived, they spoke of love, and from what I understood it questioned what the purpose of love was, if nothing was being done with that love. I then imagined a hermit sitting in a cave, praying and fasting, who was overwhelmed with boundless love. We could say that his prayers and fasting are actions, and thus he is working toward some greater goal. Yet, I also understand that while he is in that cave, he is not “physically” accomplishing anything for the greater good in the world. (Though we cannot definitely say what his prayers are actually influencing in the physical world.) Thus, what is Love without action, and what is action without love. Within me, the questions began to sound vaguely familiar to the ageless debate between faith and works. If one were to replace the word “Faith” with “Love,” maybe James reveals the question that people were chatting about today:
James 2:14-18 ¶ What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith (love), and have not works? Can faith (love) save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be blessed with warmth and be filled; notwithstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith (love), if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, You have faith (love), and I have works: show me your faith (love) without your works, and I will show you my faith (love) by my what I do.
Next, I asked myself what love really is? Immediately, my mind led me to a saying of Master Issa, (Yehoshua, Jesus).
John 15:13 No greater love is there, then to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
At the same time, how does one lay down one’s life? We should know that this does not necessitate a physical death, but a dying to the self (1 Corinthians 15). Yet, how do we actually die to the self? How do we overcome that “evil one,” that “son of perdition?” How do we sacrifice the Ego?
The clue to this answer, I believe, can be found within the Tabernacle of Moses. Within the outer court of the temple, which one must past through to arrive at the inner court and then precede to the Holy of Holies, we find two pieces of furniture. One is known as the brazen altar, and the other as the brazen laver. The brazen altar was the first piece of furniture one would see, once they entered into the outer court. Beyond that fell the Brazen Laver, which was situated between the Altar and the Entrance for the Inner Court
The Brazen Altar was used for Sacrifice, and I believe it offers us a unique understanding in what needs to happen, if we wish become a sacrifice, or sacrifice the self (ego). The brazen altar was like a giant barbeque pit, as it was the place where the sacrifice was cooked. Besides cooking the beast’s flesh, certain parts of the beasts were removed and burnt to destruction, or devoured by the flames for God. These parts consisted of the “choice Fats,” the Liver and the Kidneys
Here is where Hebrew helps.
You see, each of these words, in Hebrew, come from root words that hold significant meaning:
Choice fats (chelev) = inner oil, finest parts, inner richest parts
Liver (kaved) = to be heavy, affliction, grief, burdens
Kidneys (kilyah) = Reigns
If we consider that “God is a consuming fire” (Deut. 4:24; Heb. 12:29) and a Purifying Fire (1 Cor. 3:13-15), then this Altar symbolizes the sacrificial process we must make in order to enter into the “Holy of Holies.” First we must die to the flesh (Burning of the Beast flesh or our “Beastly Nature”). Then we must give up those best parts of our inner-self (our choice fats). After this, we give up our burdens or afflictions (liver) to be consumed by the fire; and finely, give the Fire our reigns or control (kidneys). Figuratively, the kidneys can also represent “the mind” as well.
In this, a picture develops, where we realize that in order to become a “Living Sacrifice” to the world, we must die to the flesh, and give ourselves completely to the Divine Will, which is Love, as it is also written, “God is Love (1John 4:8,16). We do this by offering up our inner most parts…(i.e. the kingdom within us), and allowing the Divine Will or “The Voice” to rule Its kingdom within us or manifest itself to the world through us. We must also offer to the Divine will, all of our burdens or afflictions…thus, if “our expression of love to the world” feels like a burden or affliction, then our “works or deeds of Love,” did not really originate from the Divine Will or the Christ Consciousness within us. Beyond this, we must also give the Divine Will our “reigns” or allow it to control us. Like a Charioteer taking the reigns of the Chariot, we need to allow the Divine Will to use us as its Chariot, as its “Chariot Throne.”
Finally, to finish this theme, we also find that the laver was a large purifying vessel, or “baptismal” type vessel, shaped like a large cup, and filled with water. It was created from the brass mirrors or “looking glasses” of the women of the congregation, which assembled at the door of the Tabernacle. As “the women of the congregation” had need of mirrors, we too use mirrors to see ourselves. Typically this is done for vanity’s sake. Thus, we find that if we wish to walk forward or walk into the next level, we need to let go of our vanity or stop looking at ourselves, (the inner I or the ego). In other words, we need to give up the “I” and allow those things that promote the “I” to be melted down or united with all the other “I’s” (mirrors), in order to create the “we” or the corporate consciousness. It is only through the “One” or the corporate consciousness, that the water (truth) will be available for purification. Allowing us all to move forward, as a corporate entity.
These are just a few thoughts about todays conversation and hopefully something fun to think on.
Be Blessed,
Yordei Merkava

The Benedictines have a motto: "Ora et Labora". Pray and Work. Time is sacred and fleeting. Work is sacred in its creative action. Loving your friends and friends is easy. Loving our enemies to where they are our beloved, that takes a prayerful grace.
I have to ask myself constantly, "what is my prayer? "what is my work? --and how do I stay mindful of the balance between the two?

This is what you say to any Christian (but readily applicable to all religions) "If Jesus (or insert your particular 'god') were here, He'd be upset that you are living a life that He sacrificed His Life to overcome."
They'll be confused because they have NO IDEA what kind of life Jesus wanted them to live other than "a good life"; they haven't walked in His shoes despite He told us to DO it.
If they balk, tell them you were only interested in saving their eternal soul from permanent damnation. ;)

I would to point out a simple fact... the big bang happened everywhere so at one point 13.7 Billion years ago we and the rest of the Universe were one. Folks, in cosmological time thats not that long. We are so separated from nature in believing in human-like deities that even wonderful words of peace and love that come from humans are tainted. Strictly in a human way we cannot see true love. Okay the weak Moose knows the Wolf pack is coming, that IS LOVE. IT IS REAL Natural Love. Relate that to a human who thinks the deities are representative of man. Deities, unless represented by Nature, like in Buddhism and other universal force religions, will only cause man to stray further from the truth, further from a unity with the consciousness, that is nature. At this point is society everything is an illusion. Even the true love you feel within, is most certainly an illusion compared to what true love really is. Separate yourself for all, find the love thats real, not human, not even earthly, universal! Thats what happened to many prophets, they we able to separate themselves to find the real answers. But then they told one man, who hadn't been separated, i.e. Mark and they tell the story differently, they give the answers re fabricated, tainted with the love of man. Free will is merely an illusion that allows us the privilege to justify our human emotions. The LOVE of the universe takes second place to no man, to no thing.

Jennifer Elizabeth Wallace said:
So, as I've said before, I have every day contact with people of the Christian faith. People ONLY of the Christian faith, who are not open to hearing about other things AS WELL. So this morning, I am sitting at breakfast with my mother, and she mentions how time seems to be going so fast, and previous times she's mentioned how so many bad things are happening in the world. She is a very big believer in The Apocalypse, Jesus' second coming, etc. I mentioned to her the video that drew me to this community, and, not very well, attempted to explain the video. At first she was open to it and then she asked, "Does it mention Jesus?"
"Well, no," I said, "but it mentions love. And Jesus is love." Lost her.
"Well, if it doesn't mention Jesus then, you know... I don't want to see it." It's quite frustrating, because I think Jesus was a great man, a great prophet, and introduced a lot of things that we all know today. I wish I knew the best approach to this, because I want people to feel love so much, and know that they don't need to be afraid, nor do I want them to wish that this world would come to an end so that they can join an exclusive club up in heaven. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Jennifer I came from this perspective and could probably sit and talk to your Mom but trying to tell you how to reach her is a nightmare because the illusion os so very thick and strong for them. I have a good friend who lead me "to the Lord" and he and I have gone rounds over this topic and he is worried for my soul... and at one time I would have been in the same frame of mind ready to cast the devil out of anyone who tried to talk to me about the ascension.
It was a long rough haul for me and it took walking completely away from the church because I was so afraid they would condemn me and call me a "New Ager or something.
I find too that with the "New Agers", they tend to think that they are right and christians are wrong and vice versa. Whn the truth is we are all really telling the story from different vantege points like the 7 blind men describing the elephant.
I haven't got a complete picture of just exactly where it all comes together, but I know the vast majority of the prophetic message of the Bible is and will come true, I am watching it happen now.
A lot of it is also allegorical and has been tweaked by the people who compiled the bible but as Christians we are taught that the Bi.ble is the one and only infallible inerrant word of God and that just isn't true. There are so many more piecesof the Bible or rather scriptures that we never get to see.
Plus we are told that anything besides Jesus is a false God and we will go to hell if we go there, same with astology, numerology, divination, crystals etc etc etc
For me the awakening brought me to a realisation that I was living in fear of everything and that the Bible says "God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
I wish I could talk to her, but the possibilty of her listenig is slim until she is ready. The deal is she is perfectly fine, you and I know that, she nor you have anything to be afraid of, she is not going to "hell" just through it :-).
For me it was a deep desire to know what Jesus was talking about when he said we would know the Truth and the Truth would make us free. If you had asked me 10 years ago what the Truth was I would have said that it was Jesus. period as he said he was the way the truth and the life... Today I can tell you the Truth is that we are all one and we have been horribly deceived by whatever the Darkside energy is Satan? The Illuminati?
THe Bible says "The god of this world has them blind..." Christians would say that is Satan. I can definitely see the hand of a dark force at play but the New Agers say that it is another aspect of God and we allcome fromt he same place. yet we see evidence of alien interference with human history "Fallen Angels" Demons? What if we are all right and yet all worng what of we are just using different language mired in too much indoctrination and horse poo?
I saw a vision once a long time ago when I was a hard core christian. A huge Diamond fell from the sky and it split into thirteen shards and then these hands of all colors cameout of the periphery and grab a piece and withdrew. i got the interperteation simultaneously and what it meant was that the Tryuth was given to man and he divided it up and took off to his little corner of the world and began wrapping "doctrine" around it. until each had created a religion with a lot of Humanure around it full of laws and rules and regulations, control mechanisms etc
once we get all the crap unwrapped and peeled off our own little pieces of Truth and put them back together we will all be one again and then it will be beautiful and we will remember who and what we are.
Don't be so sure that you "KNOW" what is going on anymore than your Mom does, and forgive her for being so pig headed, she has been programmed and it will take time... or God could drop a piece of revelation on her and change the whole thing in one fell swoop. Believe me it will happen sooner or later and she will be fine. If she loves God and not her religion, the all she has to do is follow her heart.
The best thing you can do is be happy and be loving, model what Jesus told us we should do. Have no Gods before God (LOVE) and love our neighbor as our self. That would include respecting what they believe and cooperating to co-create our reality.
As we do this, and we are forced to rub shoulders with Muslims and Catholics and New Agers we will see that we are all just humans and start opening our minds to each others truths and this will all take care of itself.
Be at peace sister... I love you.

Wow Lonnie, I love your reply! :) Jennifer, I do believe in Jesus and everything you said. I do believe that Jesus was the Son of God! absolutely....However, I also believe others can be the Sons of God....I believe being the Son of God is accepting the call from God to do whatever it is he has asked of you to do. I believe that many have received this calling, but have not been able to fulfill the task....I believe being able to assume the Christ consciousness like Jesus did is something very very difficult to achieve, but it can be done. I personally believe that listening to what Jesus tells us about how to reach God and do that is our key....Lonnie, like you I have come to believe that we are all the same and that all the different paths lead to the same place....it is just a matter of interpretation....I believe it helps the personal awakening to try to be open to learning what theologians and Archeologists have and continue to discover about ancient texts....like the Dead Sea Scrolls.....Once a person is open to listening to that information then they begin to dive deeper into the meaning of life, etc. ...it is a process for sure....I personally believe that the purpose of life is to understand the dark side is our egos and our everyday desires to make our own way and live our own lives. Once we understand that and begin to long to be reunited with God and can live our life listening and following his will and his guidance, then we ascend, and stop recycling through various lifetimes.....so very interesting.....

in my humble opinion....there are many paths and roads that will lead us to where we want to go. Eventully, because the Soul has this innate drive to return to Source, we will all get there...eventually. And just because someone is not on the same path as you or I...it does not mean they are lost. Maybe just taking the sceneic route?

I know many wonderful people who are good and kind people but who do not seem to have much of an interest in seeking the guidance of God. They are living their lives as law abiding, good, kind people who's focus is on living a great life and obtaining material things and personal pleasures. I can't help but wonder if this is where reincarnation comes in. The right path being the longing to reunite with God and maybe we just keep recycling until we start to feel that longing. I also wonder if basically all the religions, even though they differ, are saying the same core thing which is promoting a closeness to God. You know the old saying, "the devil is in the details"? Maybe that statement could be applied to all the intricate details and rules of the different religions....hmmm such an interesting ponder :)
