Enlightenment

  • Truth is a very personal thing. It represents and influences our most intimate values. Because of this within us exists the potential to fear truth. The ego asks “What if I don't like where truth leads? because of this question we may refuse to acknowledge truth. Do to social influences we become accustom (mentally programed) not to acknowledge truth when it appears not to benefit us. Basically when something does not benefit us it take more to convince us that it is true. Truth is exact. This means truth is not influence by the whims of man. Truth does not need the Ego for it to be true. Truth is true if you believe it or not. A crucial part of enlightenment is being able to appreciate the “ value” of truth regardless of its implications.

Here is the problem. It takes a motive to acknowledge truth. Though the ego may argue against this statement with his/hers last breath, there is a “cause” for all knowledge that you accept as truth. When I say cause I’m not just referencing how you came into possession of the knowledge but why you excepted the knowledge as truth. This is due to the design of the tour of life. We must ask what is the cause? What is the motive? The motive for most spiritual minds is simply the love of the “essence of self.” If you do not love yourself, all that you may want out of life is pleasure regardless of truth. unfortunately the essence of oneself does become clowned (in the mind) because of the ego. It is almost as if the ego is jealous of the essence of self. This is the daily fight for the spirit and mind. When the motive derives form the love of our essence we could care less if truth benefits us (creating pleasure) as individuals or not. This is enlightenment according to Quantum Philosophy: Meanings Answers and Promises.

William Humphrey Nancy David, when i said "unfortunately the essence of oneself does become clowned (in the mind) because of the ego." I just meant that at times we forget who we truly are.

Nancy David Thanks for clarifying. It was just confusing to me, but that is sort of what I thought it meant. Makes "sense" to me for sure!

Bad Slave Nancy, I am with you on the set up of disappointment by expecting better.
The same goes for accomplishing your dreams.
Even when you achieve a dream, the ego is satisfied only for a short time, then we pursue another dream.
